‘’I’m the first person in my family to have a proper salaried job with Perks and Benefits, PF and ESI.’’ – says Pavithra – Software Development Engineer (SDE 1) at Piccosoft, Tiruvannamalai Branch. 

After successfully clearing the 3 rounds of interview process, Pavithra joined as a POMP Trainee at our Piccosoft TVM Branch on 24th August 2020. After successful completion of POMP period, she came under the payroll of our organization as Software Development Engineer (SDE 1) on 1st December 2020.

On the day she came into our Payroll, we handed her the offer letter, ID card and recognized her as employee of Piccosoft.

‘’On the day, I got my offer letter and ID card from Piccosoft, I went home happily and showed my Parents what I received from Piccosoft. They are not enough educated to read. But, they said, they are happy to see my progress and that is well-evident in my smile on my face.’’ says Pavithra.

One fine day, during a casual coffee break, in presence of all our employees, we asked each one of them on their experience of working at Piccosoft and what their family feels about it. This is when we heard a heart touching story from Pavithra, one of our employees from our TVM branch.

Pavithra’s father is a sweet seller and her mother is a laborer in an ice-cream factory. Nobody in her family got proper schooling and education. Pavithra is the first ever member in her family to complete 10th grade, step into college education and earn an engineering degree – which is a great achievement from Pavithra. Pavithra is the first person in her family to work in a Private Limited Organization.

Her Parents are not financial well-to-do and they weren’t in a full position to sponsor her engineering studies. She had to take a bank loan for her engineering fees. Then, for other expenses like travel to college and other miscellaneous expenses, she did home tutoring for school kids and managed all her expenses through her own earnings.

When she got a job in Piccosoft – Tiruvannamalai branch, her Parents were very happy as they did not want Pavithra to travel to any other cities for jobs. They wanted her to have a job in their own home town. And, when they heard about Pavithra getting a job in Tiruvannamalai, that also assured a good and bright career in IT field, they were very happy.

‘’On the day I got my first salary, I went and handed over the envelope with salary to my mother. Her eyes were filled with tears and she gave me a hug and this is an unforgettable moment for me.’’ – says Pavithra.

‘’I still haven’t purchased anything for my Parents with my salary. When I get my first hike, I shall buy something for them. Also, I have another goal in my life. My younger brother has completed diploma and he is working in a jewelry shop. I want him to have a bright career just like me. I will fund his engineering education with my own earnings. Also, I told my father to quit the sweet seller job that he does. I want to support him with my earnings.’’ – says Pavithra.
